Software Group Manager

About The Position

As a Software Group Manager, you will design and build the team structure to best support the business, own staffing up your teams, define product vision through close engagement with Product Management and customers. You will drive clear execution plans and the best practices in product development and operation, provide guidance and support to engineers in the team, apply a data-driven approach in defining and measuring service/operation success.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross functional teams to drive projects from design to implementation (10-15 Engineers, approximately 20% HO)
  • Engage with the product management team and other stakeholders
  • Set development methodology and be accountable for team plans and deliverables
  • Grow and build strong, healthy, and diverse teams through hiring as well mentoring and coaching

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in C++ development
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering management and leadership
  • Experience developing distributed systems, with reliability and performance orientation
  • Experience working with Linux OS
  • Strong communication skills, analytical skills, and project/program management skills
  • Experience working with different stakeholders and translating requests into prioritized work or features
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems fundamentals
  • Strong understanding of SQL
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience working with a large scale system
  • MA\BSc in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
